Connecting Instagram

This guide shows you how to connect your Instagram professional account so your assistant can reply to Instagram DMs.

Setup

Before you start

You will need two things in place on the Meta side before connecting.

  • An Instagram professional account (Business or Creator).
  • A Facebook Page linked to that Instagram account, with admin access.
Step-by-step

Connecting Instagram

Connecting takes only a moment and happens through Meta's official login.

1. Open Dashboard → Integrations → Instagram

In your Breezaro dashboard, go to Integrations and open the Instagram section.

2. Click "Connect Instagram"

A Meta login window opens. Sign in and select the Facebook Page linked to your Instagram account.

3. Finish the connection

Confirm the selection. Your Instagram account is now linked and the assistant starts replying to new DMs.

Setup

Setting the primary receiver (Conversation Routing)

To hand conversations between Breezaro and the Meta inbox, your Instagram account must route new messages to Breezaro first. This is a one-time setting only an account admin can make.

  1. Open your account's messaging settings
    In Meta Business Suite, open the settings of the connected Instagram account and go to the messaging section called Conversation Routing.
  2. Set Breezaro as the primary receiver
    Enable Conversation Routing and choose the Breezaro app as the default (primary) app that receives new messages.
  3. Save and test
    Save the setting, then send your account a test DM. In the conversation detail you can now hand the thread to the Meta inbox and take it back.
Behaviour

Working alongside the Meta inbox

Your team can keep using the Meta Business Suite inbox or the Instagram app — the assistant knows when to step aside.

When someone from your team replies from the Meta inbox (Business Suite or the Instagram app), the assistant automatically goes quiet in that conversation and the inbox shows a "handled in the Meta inbox" marker.

In the conversation detail you can take the thread back at any time — "Reply here" lets you answer from Breezaro yourself, "Return to the assistant" lets the AI resume.

Good to know

A few Instagram-specific rules apply.

  • The assistant replies with text. Attachments (photos, reels, story mentions) appear in the conversation as an attachment marker.
  • Instagram enforces a 24-hour messaging window — the assistant can reply within 24 hours of the customer's last message.
  • Instagram applies its own automation limits to business messaging; very high volumes may be throttled by Meta.
